Ahmad Abdel-Hamid

President

Ahmad Abdel-Hamid is an Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia . He has been living in the Main Line area since September 1982. He is currently living in Bryn Mawr. He had been an active member of the Muslim community in the Main Line area for many years. He was associated with the Foundation for Islamic Education (FIE) in Villanova for over 25 years in different capacities and had served as a Chair of the Community Service Committee and a member of the Advisory Board. He is a member of Amana Foundation Zakaat Committee. He has been regular khateeb at FIE for many years and had delivered Friday Khutba at many other Islamic centers including Devon, West Chester, Coatesville and Iqra. He is the Founder and Past President of Main Line Muslim Society. He is the Founder and currently, serving as President of As-Salaam Islamic Society (AIS).

Mukarram Malk

Vice President

Mukarram Malik is CEO of D2Strategy in Bryn Mawr, PA. He has been an active member of the local Muslim community for 20+ years. As a volunteer, instructor and coach at the Sunday Islamic School, he’s led programs for older teenagers, fostering critical thinking and faith-based leadership. He now seeks to join the mosque board, offering strategic planning, transparent governance, and technology-driven engagement to strengthen our community’s educational and outreach efforts.

Fred Fathy Akl

General Secretary

Fred Fathy Akl is an engineer and educator. His community engagement includes serving on the board of directors of civic and non-profit organizations, and volunteering for humanitarian causes. He was associated with Foundation for Islamic Education (FIE), Villanova, PA, for many years. He is one of the founders of the As-Salaam Islamic Society (AIS) and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors..

Fahad Al

Treasurer

Fahad Ali has been a resident of the Main Line for several years and is a psychiatrist serving the local community. He  believes in the importance of giving back and is committed to fostering a sense of unity and spiritual growth within the community.

Rania Ibrahim

Social Secretary

An ambitious entrepreneur, have spent over eight enriching years in Saudi Arabia before relocating to the USA in King of Prussia city. She holds a degree in Law and has practiced as a lawyer, further enhancing her expertise with additional studies in Information Technology. With experience working for various corporations in diverse industries, Rania now runs her own successful clothing export business. Driven by a passion for community service, she has decided not to limit my life to family and business only. She is currently the manager of the AIS Weekend school.

Sohail Chaudhry

Board Member

Sohail Chaudhry is a Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Villanova University. He has been residing in the counties of Chester and Delaware since the early 1990s. He has served as a faculty advisor to the Muslim Students Association at Villanova University. Also, he was associated with the Foundation for Islamic Education in Villanova in different capacities for more than two decades.

Nasheed Hossain

Board Member

Nasheed Hossain is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. A recent addition the Malin Line Muslim Community, he and his family relocated from Chicago, IL where they were active in the Muslim Community. He and has family are eager to become further involved in the Muslim Community here in the Main Line with the hope to positive impact the community and its organizations.

Abdul Shaheen

Board Member 

Abdul Shaheen has been living in Lower Merion and Haverford Townships for the last about 20 years. Presently, he lives in Bryn Mawr. He served York City as Construction Project Manager and retired in June, 2022. Now, he is working as consultant Construction Project Manager for City of Philadelphia. He was associated with the Foundation for Islamic Education in Villanova for many years. Abdul is an active participant in religious and social activities of the AIS. He is a regular attendee of AIS Jumu’ah at Haverford Community Center. He is currently serving as a member of AIS Board of Directors.

Eman Solima

Board Member 

Eman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and has over 15 years of experience teaching kindergarten-aged children and more than 10 years teaching Qur’an and Arabic to both children and adults. She earned her Tajweed certificate from Khayrokom Organization in Jeddah while living in Saudi Arabia for over 14 years. Now based in King of Prussia, she works as a lead kindergarten teacherand has been teaching at AIS Sunday School for three years. Eman is dedicated to supporting the Muslim community through Islamic education and active community involvement.
