AIS Weekend School
Policies & Code of Conduct
The weekend Islamic school in overseen by the AIS Board of Directors. The day-to-day operations of the AIS-WES program is carried out by the AIS-WES administrative team, which is comprised of the AIS-WES School Committee, and the school manager.
Admission Requirements:
• The AIS WES program is open to all members of the Main Line and surrounding communities with an interest
in expanding their knowledge of Quranic studies, Islamic culture and etiquette.
• All students planning to attend must have a registration form submitted by their parents/guardians prior to
the first day of attendance.
The target age group for admission is age 5-14, with exceptions that can be made on a case-by-case basis requiring approval of the AIS WES administrative team.
Tuition Fees:
• Tuition fee payments are posted with each yearly information sheet
• All tuition fees are required to be paid in full as part of the registration and prior to the school starting date.
• Fees are nonrefundable.
• Tuition rate is adjusted as required on a yearly basis as proposed by the AIS-WES committee and approval
of the AIS Board of Directors.
Expected Code of Conduct:
The following are the rules for the code of conduct that need to be presented and discussed with your students prio to their attendance at the AIS-WES program:
A. Be responsible for his/her own behavior.
B. Listen to and follow directions.
C. Treat every person and all equipment with respect.
D. Use appropriate language at all times.
E. Help to keep the classroom and the school premises clean. It is the responsibility of the students to
keep the classroom clean. Any object on the floor should be picked up and disposed of accordingly.
F. Walk and not run at any time.
G. No fighting or wrestling or other physical altercations/demonstrations.
H. Any kind of food, except water bottles, will not be permitted inside the classroom unless the class teacher
gives permission; chewing gum will not be allowed in the school.
J. Use of cellphones during the class is prohibited. If cell phone is carried by the student, it should be in
vibrating mode and be kept in their back packs, purses or pockets.
K. Not following these rules will result in appropriate action by teachers and/or administrative staff. If teachers
and administration find any student disturbing classes and school environment after repeated reminders
and warning, school will contact the student and their parents. AIS-WES administrative team will make
the students and parents aware of the situation.
Expected Dress Code
To uphold and fosters a proper Islamic environment for the AIS-WES, we expect an appropriate modest dress code – for specific questions or concerns, please discuss with the AIS-WES administrative team.
Attendance Policy:
o 80% Attendance for yearly graduation – for excessive absences, students may be withdrawn from the
program following conversation with their parents/guardians.
o For repeat late arrivals: conversation between school team and parents about issues and approaches
to help ensure the students are coming to class on time and getting the maximum benefit from their
time with the AIS weekend school.
Pick Up Policy:
o For safety we do not let the students go outside the building to wait for their parents/guardians for
pick up. Parents, please be aware you must enter the building to pick-up your students at the end of school.
o Parents, please inform your children who attend the WES that they (students) will be told to stay inside
the AIS WES building after the end of school.
o NOTE: Outside of the interval provided for pick-up, there will be a 5-minute grace period unless parents
give advance notice that they are running late for pick-up. If there is a late pickup without advance
notice/approval, student account will be charged $1/min that there is a delay in pick up For repeated i
ncidents, there will be a meeting with parents and the WES administrative team to determine a plan of action.
